AARON RAMSEY has revealed Arsenal players devastation when Arsene Wenger told them he was standing down as boss.
And the Wales midfielder, 27, admits fans protests have added to the teams struggles and ultimately cost Wenger.
Asked about the moment Wenger told his squad he was ending his 22-year reign, Ramsey said: When he said it, you could hear a pin drop in the room.
He was dead quiet and everyone was looking at each other. It wasnt a very long meeting but there was still a lot of emotion in the room.
We just have to put that behind us now and use it as motivation to finish off the season strongly for him.
I came here as a boy and Ive turned into a man. Hes definitely helped me through that process.

Wenger accused Arsenal fans of damaging the clubs global reputation with their protests against him.
And Ramsey admits the dissent in the stands has affected the players.
He added: They are entitled to their opinions and its up to us to put it to bed and focus on winning games.
At times it hasnt helped on the pitch but thats just something weve had to deal with and accept.
The Gunners drew 1-1 with ten-man Atletico Madrid in the first leg of their Europa League semi-final.
With the return in Spain on Thursday, Ramsey says the squad owe it to Wenger to send him out on a high.
Ramsey added: To lift the Europa League trophy is what he deserves.
