Sport Book Service | Danny Willett claims some American fans proved his brother right at the Ryder Cup

Danny Willett aimed a dig at US fans after defeat

DANNY WILLETT has sensationally claimed his brother was right to mock "brainless American crowds" before the Ryder Cup.

The debutant was speaking after a hostile tournament ended in acomprehensive 17-11 defeat for the Europeans.

He tweeted:"Very strange week here at the Ryder cup.. Tried my best but played poorly.. Unfortunately some american fans showed that @P_J_Willettwas.

".. In fact correct.. Nothing to blame my bad play on.. But still shows that sometimes fans don't know when to call it a day.. Shame really!!"

Willett distanced himself from the comments ahead of the tournament before making a shock U-turn in the wake of a chastening loss - to which he did not contribute a point.

When quizzed by fans about his original response, he added: "I meant every word about being sorry for what was written but unfortunately people made it tough to stick by that!!"

In a brutally honest post-tournament press conference, Willett admitted he had been "s***, really s***".

The Yorkshire golfer was one of several Europeans targeted by fired-up US fans - especially after the inflammatory article.

Sibling Peteralso called the Americans "pudgy, basement-dwelling irritants, stuffed on cookie dough and pi**y beer, pausing between mouthfuls of hotdog so they can scream 'Baba booey' until their jelly faces turn red."

His amazing outburst in the National Club Golfer magazine had rookie Danny desperately trying to distance himself from those remarks before phoning his brother to ask him what the hell he was up to.

Europe skipper Darren Clarke commented: I spoke to Danny about it. I showed it to Danny, and he's bitterly disappointed in his brother's article. It is not what Danny thinks. It is not what I think. It is not what Team Europe stands for."

Peter, a Yorkshire schoolteacher, cashed in on his brothers Masters success with a series of tweets some of them fairly amusing posted while Danny was charging towards Augusta glory.

His offensive attack went on: Team USA have only won five of the last 16 Ryder Cups. Four of those five victories have come on home soil.

For the Americans to stand a chance of winning, they need their baying mob of imbeciles to caress their egos every step of the way.

"Like one of those brainless bastards from your childhood, the one that pulled down your shorts during the schools Christmas assembly. (f**k you, Paul Jennings), they only have the courage to keg you if theyre backed up by a giggling group of reprobates.

Team Europe needs to shut those groupies up. They need to stun the angry, unwashed, Make America Great Again swarm.

They need to smash the obnoxious dads, with their shiny teeth, Lego man hair, medicated ex-wives, and resentful children.

Squeezed into their cargo shorts and boating shoes, theyll bellow get in the hole whilst high-fiving all the other members of the Dentists Big Game Hunt Society.

If these things happen, Europe will win, and Ill try to support gracefully by embracing the same sense of fair-mindedness that has permeated this unbiased article.

If not, the Americans will claim their second victory this century those fat, stupid, greedy, classless, bastards.

Willett later showed little sign of remorse on his Twitter account. He tweeted: Sorry to any American followers... but I mean every word. COME ON Team Europe.
