TOTTENHAM'S week has been overshadowed by the horrific injury Everton's Andre Gomes suffered at Goodison Park on Sunday.
Spurs forward Son Heung-Min's tackle saw the Portuguese midfielder fracture and dislocate his ankle in gruesome fashion during the 1-1 draw.
The South Korean was given a straight red card for the challenge and will miss three Premier League games unless Spurs' appeal is successful.
Son was in floods of tears after the event that saw Gomes writhing on the ground screaming in agony.
Some of the Toffees' players went into the away dressing room to comfort the 27-year-old after the game as Gomes was on his way to hospital.
And such was the brutal impact of the incident on Son, Tottenham have since offered him counselling to deal with the trauma.
The story has dominated the headlines since the weekend, but Spurs now have to focus on their Champions League trip to Red Star Belgrade tomorrow.
Sunday's red card does not prevent Son from playing in the Champions League, and despite reports he would be left out of the travelling party on compassionate grounds, he has been pictured boarding the plane to Serbia this afternoon.
However, it is still unlikely he will start the game as Spurs seek to protect him.
Summer signing Giovani Lo Celso will likely step into the breach in the Serbian capital.
And if Harry Kane has not recovered in time from the illness that kept him out on Sunday, he will likely be replaced by Lucas Moura, as he was at the weekend.
