A CHELSEA fan account has faced a severe backlash for mocking Tottenham defender Jan Vertonghen after he was left with a bloody nose following a horror clash of heads.
The Belgian suffered a sickening KO, as Ajax delivered the first blow in this Champions League semi-final, when he accidentally clashed with team-mate Toby Alderweireld in the 32nd minute.
Vertonghen nutted the back of Alderweirelds head as they jumped for a free-kick with Ajax keeper Andre Onana.
A Chelsea fan account tweeted a love heart emoji following a picture posted of the Spurs defenders injury - and the disgusting jibe was met with great criticism, mainly from fellow Blues fans, with one branding it "disgusting".
A fan said: "I dont like Spurs and Vertonghen but that was a scene I didnt like to see."
Another said: "Worst fan channel."
One commented: "That's a bit much, even for a hated rival..."
Another commented: "You represent no one."
At first the centre-half was given a clean shirt and shorts and sent back on despite Spanish referee Antonio Mateu Lahoz clearly asking if they had checked the player for concussion.
But moments later the groggy star walked unsteadily to the touchline before he then started retching.
Spurs could face a Uefa probe after the centre-half had to be helped off the pitch a minute after his brutal clash.
TV pundits and fans slammed Spurs for sending him back on.
But boss Poch said: Our medical staff followed the protocol.
I wasnt involved, that was a doctors decision. We took him out because he didnt feel well. He is OK now. We are more relaxed. I hope it is not a big issue.
