
BEAMING Tommy Fleetwood had to "steal" an umbrella for his second-round surge at the Open - because he doesn't have a sponsor to give him one.
The English golfer - who made around 4million last year - fired a six-under 65 to charge up the leaderboard at Carnoustie.
But he found himself in trouble when the heavens opened around the time of his 7.30am tee time.
Club and clothes manufacturers usually never miss an opportunity to get their branding on a top player.
Yet Fleetwood had nothing to protect himself from the downpour and had to get an Open-branded one as a last resort.
Asked if he had to buy the umbrella for his round, Fleetwood said: "No, we stole it.

"See, we don't have a sponsor. We don't have a manufacturer sponsor. So it just so happens this week that we've got a nice Open Championship brolly. It
looked quite nice, the yellow and the course."
Fleetwood was the hometown favourite at last year's Open at Royal Birkdale but was "kicked in the teeth" after a nightmare first round.
One year on the new dad couldn't be better placed to mount a challenge and is relishing the chance to win his first Major.
