OPEN organisers have not cut or rolled the greens and will adjust certain pins and tee positions as they prepare for gusts of more than 30mph to batter Royal Troon.
The flag location on the par-four third hole has been moved and the tee on the par-four 11th, the toughest hole, has been moved up.
Officials are alsokeeping a close eye on the fifth and 17th greens.
An R&A statement read: "The weather forecast is for 15-25mph winds with gusts of up to 30mph throughout the day.
"Following our early morning set-up process, we have decided not to cut or roll the greens and certain tees and pins are being adjusted.
"Play will commence as scheduled and the players have been advised."
The rain of yesterday on the Scottish links will be replaced by whipping winds today as leader Phil Mickelson looks to extend his one-shot lead.
The American finished two rounds on ten under par, one shot ahead of Swede Henrik Stenson.
A low front pressure is moving towards Troon but is expected to sweep in just north of the course.
Mickelson, looking for his second Claret Jug, tees off at 3.20pm alongside Stenson.
