OLIVER FISHER has become the first European Tour player to shoot 59 in over 680,000 rounds at the Portugal Masters.
The English star, 30, broke into the 50s as he stormed up the leader-board at the Dom Pedro Victoria course this afternoon.
No player in the history of the European Tour has ever shot under 60... until today.
Fisher needed a birdie from either of his last two holes - and achieved it on the 17th hole after a nervy five-foot put.
That meant the English star only need a par on the 18th - and crashed a sweet drive down the middle of the fairway to put himself within touching distance.
And he completed it in emphatic fashion with a simple par to go into the clubhouse proud owner of a new golfing record.
All in all, Fisher shot ten birdies, one eagle and seven pars in his mind-boggling round.
Despite the phenomenal round, Fisher is still only tied-second after the second-round.
The Englishman - on an 11-under-par overall - sits behindRicardo Gouveia by one shot going into Saturday's third round.
And Fisher will be looking for a monster payday in Portugal, with the total purse for the tournament sitting at a whopping 1.8million.
