DAVID SILVA is on a mission to round off his magnificent Manchester City career with a perfect tenth year.
The Spanish midfield maestro, 33, will end his Etihad career at the end of the next season.
And he intends to go out by delivering the only major trophy he has yet to get his hands on the Champions League.
Silva has experienced the joy of winning the World Cup and European Championship with Spain as well as four Premier League titles, two FA Cups and four League Cups with City.
But he admits his farewell season will see him launch a quest to seize his personal Holy Grail.
For nine years since leaving Valencia for 25million, Silva has lived up to his name, plundering ten major domestic trophies with City 12 if you throw in a couple of Community Shields.
Now he dreams of scoring off the remaining item on his bucket-list, by presenting the ultimate farewell gift to City fans at Istanbuls Ataturk Stadium on May 30.
He said: That would be perfect. We havent been able to achieve that goal yet of winning the Champions League.
But if every year is like last season, I would sign for it right now.
When I was a kid, I never thought I would achieve everything I have done. So for me Im more than happy with what I have achieved in my ten years at City.
Mentally it was very draining and there were times when I doubted if we would win the title. Especially the last game, with the dry grass, when Brighton scored first.
David Silva
Silva was left physically and emotionally drained by Citys marathon season, after Liverpool pushed them all the way to the final day of an extraordinary season.
When the final whistle went Jurgen Klopps men had collected a staggering 97 points only to miss out to City by a point.
Silva added: It was definitely the hardest title to win. Especially with us and Liverpool being so strong.
We both got so many points but the title wasnt decided until the last day of the season.
After January we didnt lose a single game domestically and thats a really hard thing to do in England. Thats pressure, because at that level of competition you know one defeat can cost you the league.
Mentally it was very draining and there were times when I doubted if we would win the title.
Especially the last game, with the dry grass, when Brighton scored first, but we managed to come back from that and win 4-1.
EURO DREAM
Every year now is going to be harder.
You get to 100 points and everybody, Manchester United and Liverpool, wants to be there, too.
I havent even been following the Spain womens team in the World Cup because I want to chill out and switch off from football. It was a very stressful season.
Silva knows Klopps newly-crowned European champions will come back determined to prove they can topple City from their domestic dominance.
But with one season left at the Etihad, he is ready for one final push to rob the Reds of their newest possession, before joining Vincent Kompany by taking on a new challenge elsewhere.
Silva said: Vinny was an excellent warrior for City.
But with the new generation we will find another one, another Vinny.
I can see us dominating like Manchester United once did.
I will go at the end of the season and that will leave Sergio Aguero from the team which won the title in 2012 but he never won the FA Cup!
Experience is always important. But Citys future is in safe hands with Bernardo Silva, Raheem Sterling, Leroy Sane and Phil Foden there. City are constantly evolving.
