FOR Tiger Woods, the coolest part of winning for the first time in five years was his kids saw how good he is instead of just hearing it.
Daughter Sam, 11, was just a year old and nine-year-old son Charlie had not even been born when Tiger won the last of his 14 Major titles back in 2008.
And they were still too young to appreciate it when he bounced back to form in 2013, winning five times and reclaiming the world No1 spot before his career-threatening back injuries.
Now he is back and full of that old confidence ready for the Ryder Cup showdown which begins in Paris on Friday.
He is on a roll and determined to show those kids more of what dad is all about on a golf course.
When asked how they would react to Sundays memorable Tour Championship triumph, Woods broke into a huge grin.
Excited fans enter the Golf course to follow Tiger Woods to the final hole as he wins Tour Championship - his first tournament win since 2013The 42-year-old said: They understand a bit of what dad does now.
I hadnt won any tournaments which they can remember, so this will be a little bit different for them.
To be able to have shared what I did with them at the British Open this year when I had a chance in the final round they felt that atmosphere.
They know what their dad can do on a golf course now its not a case of what I USED to be able to do.
A lot of times they equated golf to pain because every time I did it, I would hurt and it would cause me more pain.
So now theyre seeing a little bit of joy and seeing how much fun it is for me to be able to do this again.
Woods had to fight back tears as he walked up the 18th hole at Atlantas East Lake Golf Club knowing even a bogey would be good enough for his first victory since the 2013 Bridgestone Invitational.
The galleries knew it was in the bag too.
They burst through the ropes and flooded the fairway, cheering Woods every inch of the way to the green.
Woods thoughts also strayed to his father, who died of cancer shortly before he won his fourth Open title at Hoylake in 2006 the 14-time Major champion wept on caddie Steve Williams shoulder when the winning putt went in.
He said: Pops would be very proud. Hed be very proud of the way I went out and played today under tough conditions.
Nothing will compare to that win at Hoylake in that regard, losing dad and those emotions.
The circumstances are very different, so Im not going to compare the two. But I was pretty emotional.
Sundays win was Tigers 80th PGA Tour title.
He added: 80 is a big number. Ive been sitting on 79 for about five years now and to get to 80 is a pretty good feeling!
Woods admitted he had not seen crowd scenes like those at East Lake for more than 20 years, during the original outbreak of Tigermania.
He explained: It was similar to coming down the last hole in 1997 at the Western. But not to this fevered pitch this was different.
I guess its different now because the art of clapping is gone, right? You cant clap when youve got a cellphone in your hand. So people yell, and they were yelling so much theyre going to be hoarse.
I could hear the stampede, but I didnt really see much. I was kind of looking forward, and I figured that security would hold them back.
He had little difficulty in making par to complete a two- shot victory over Billy Horschel, who burst out of the pack as Woods playing partner Rory McIlroy and Justin Rose fell away.
After four back operations and a couple of years where he could barely walk let alone swing a club, this victory was clearly something special.
Woods explained: Its certainly up there with all the Major championships Ive won, The Players, and World Golf Championships. But this is under different circumstances.
Tiger Woods PGA Tour win celebrated by stunning Paige Spiranac as she tees-off wearing shirt dedicated to golfing legendIt means a lot. The people close to me saw the struggles and what I was going through.
Twenty years ago, hell, I thought I was going to play for another 30 years. Thats just the way golf is. You can play until youre 70 years old.
But there was a point I didnt know if Id ever do this again.
So yeah, I appreciate it a bit more than I did because I dont take it for granted that Im going to have another decade, two decades playing at this level.
Woods grinned again when he was asked: How do you think the world will react to the win given youve probably just broken the internet?
He replied: Well, when I came out here, there was no internet!
