But the club also confirmed the news that a host of top stars are out of the game against the La Liga champions.

Dele Alli, Christian Eriksen, Jan Vertonghen, Serge Aurier and Mousa Dembele are all OUT of the Group B match.

Luckily for Pochettino, Hugo Lloris is back to start for the first time since their 3-0 win at Manchester United, while Harry Kane is hoping to stay fit and firing.

Tottenham need a result at Wembley after blowing a lead in Milan to lose 2-1 to Inter.

And the former Espanyol boss took time out of his preparations to reject claims he could be set for a move to their Catalan rivals if he leaves North London.

The Argentinian said:"It's something that is more than understood.

"I have a lot of friends in Barcelona, who are from the Blaugrana and to whom I have enormous respect, but my path and that of Barcelona are different, opposite directions, and coaching there would be impossible.

"[Facing Barcelona] motivates me being a periquito [Espanyol fan] and living so many years in Barcelona.

"Going back to the city is always nice and playing against Barcelona, too. It is always motivating."
